What are some treatment options we might explore before moving to surgery?

A combination of the abovementioned therapies is usually very effective if the client sticks with them regularly. But if none of those work as the client is hoping, we then start planning out the hair transplant procedure.

What’s the cost?

The price of a hair transplant procedure can fluctuate quite a bit. Many doctors charge by the graft, some by how many hairs, and some by zones. A client might need anywhere from 1,000 to 4,000 grafts. The average price is usually $3 or $4 per graft, but of course there are still variables. In places where there is no competition, doctors can charge a lot more money. In places like New York, LA and Miami, you can find competitive pricing.

How does it work?

After trying out non-invasive techniques, we will move to the surgical procedure. We carefully plan our course of action based on each client’s individual balding and hair growth patterns. We then shave the head and remove a graft of skin from the area in the back of the head between the ears, where DHT never causes hair loss. Each microscopic follicle is dissected and then our surgeon actually grafts each individual hair follicle into the center of your scalp based upon your own unique natural hair growth pattern. After a brief healing period of several days, your own hair will grow naturally in your head just as it used to.

How long does it take?

As this is a quite complex and artistic process, a hair transplant surgery takes hours and requires an entire team of expert. Our teams can do up to 4,600 grafts in one session, though the average is 2,500 grafts per client.

How long does the hair last?

Forever. This is your own hair from the back of your own head that is genetically programmed never to fall out. Once those grafts are completed, your hair will grow naturally as it used to. We do recommend lasers and Propecia even after the procedure, because you need to protect the surrounding hairs. If you are not proactive, the transplanted hair will remain and surrounding hairs might still fall out from DHT. The only chances of your hair thinning again are if you don’t do enough grafts or temporarily from hair shock. Like we always say though, hair loss is an ongoing process and must be combated as such.
